French Limoges by Renoir
(Jean-Honoré Fragonard)

A little history on Renoir, born February 25, 1841, Limoges, France

Pierre-Auguste Renoir  was born into a family of artisans, The family moved to Paris, France sometime between 1844 and 1846, living near the Louvre, a world-renowned art museum and this would be the place where Renoir became inspired he would actually sit for hours inside this museum and try to re-create some of the most famous works of art that the Louvre held, thus demonstrating his gift at an early age.

Quickly recognizing his talent, his  parents apprenticed him, at age 13, to work at a Limoges porcelain factory as a painter, He learned to copy designs to decorate plates and other dishware. Before long, Renoir started doing other types of decorative painting to make a living, duplicating works like that of renown French artist
[Jean-Honoré Fragonard] and others that inspired him.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Oscar Claude Monet had become good friends over the years and it remained that way throughout their lives, they shared many interests together, painting on the shores of the Seine river while learning from each other, experiencing freedom on the edge of impressionism, Pierre also painted numerous scenes of Claude and Camille separately as they hung out in the parks having picnics and enjoying time with some of their friends, Pierre also spent a few years with the Monet's (Claude and Camille) while living in Argenteuil.

Monet tends to emphasize more of the sourounding while Renoir enjoys the closeness of the festivities!

In July and August 1874 Manet vacationed at his family’s house in Gennevilliers, just across the Seine from Monet at Argenteuil. The two painters saw each other often that summer, and on a number of occasions they were joined by Renoir. While Manet was painting this picture of Monet with his wife Camille and their son Jean, Monet painted Manet at his easel (location unknown). Renoir, who arrived just as Manet was beginning to work, borrowed paint, brushes, and canvas, positioned himself next to Manet, and painted Madame Monet and Her Son (National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.)

Renoir’s model for this painting was likely Camille Monet, wife of his fellow Impressionist Claude Monet; Renoir painted her on several occasions between 1874 and 1876. However, the child is quite young here perhaps Michael Monet so this painting would have to be around 1877.     Here she sits on a hillside, her white dress dappled with pink and blue in the shade. Her grace and composure stand in marked contrast to the toddling child who wanders off into the background at right, oblivious of the painter’s presence.

Renoir, Claude, and Camille were very close friends, Incidentally, on one occasion, In 1876 Claude Monet had gone off and left his Wife Camille and their Son at home as he was commissioned by Ernest Hoschedé a wealthy Parisian businessman who had inherited a fortune from his father’s business (a merchant of fine laces and shawls) and from his marriage in 1863 to Alice Raingo, who came from a wealthy Belgian family Monet was to paint decorative panels for the Château de Rottembourg and several landscape paintings and it was during this visit that Monet became attracted to Mrs.Alice Hoschedé  (Mr. Hoschedé Wife) and shortly there after he had an affair with her. Unfortunately, Monet was not heard from until 8 mos.later. Meanwhile, Camille had sat waiting lonely without him and during this time Renoir as a good friend would come by there frequently to comfort her as she waited, Meanwhile, Renoir showed kindness towards her as she remained in her sadness...

After hearing about Camille Monet's death in September 1879 Renoir became severely grieved, understandably so, she was like family to him, perhaps more? Furthermore, it was most certainly his best friends wife. The three of them shared so many fond memories together. Renoir himself obviously consoled with Claude Monet and afterwards he created this painting seen below, which would ultimately capture all the wonderful times the three of them spent together most notably the love and closeness they shared together (encapsulated) in this masterful rendering as Bride and Groom Vessels on the Water. A memorial and a testament of a reality only Renoir could express, "Sunrise" by PAR Pierre-Auguste Renoir a professional copy of Claude Monet's Sunrise only Renoir could do.

Digging Deeper!

Subject Matter:
Sunrise Impression Paintings - Soleil Levant - "Rising Sun"

This (Renoir Oil Painting) is unknown to the world, the work he did on this canvas is quite intriguing!  Only by the means of this article will we be able to see another side of  Renoir Perhaps what influenced him? additionally what we might be able to derive or interpret from a single painting. (see or not see)  maybe this will give us a deeper look into the understanding of who Renoir really was?  I know he was a lover of people but I also know he was a genius of an artist.

 Quote:
“Picasso and Matisse both loved Renoir,” says French film director Gilles Bourdos. “Because, unlike Monet, he keeps the human figure as the central element. His art is about the body

Renoir loves to copy famous works of art, he's a master at it, almost like that of Vermeer.

 Renoir and Monet's Private Collection

Claude Monet had a disire to collect works from other artist but he was extremely fond of Renoirs paintings! Monet was also obsessed with his late wife Camille, which had created a bit of tension between him and his new wife Alice (Hoschedé), so it wasn't very long after Camille's death that Alice, basically, ransacked all of Claude's possessions destroying anything hidden away that pertained to her. On one occasion Claude almost gave up painting because he had a bout with depression over Camille's death, it almost literally caused him to give up painting, he became so upset that at one point he started destroying some of his own paintings,  literally tearing them into shreds and hurling them against the wall!
This marine painting is almost a carbon copy of  Monet's Sunrise except with (cleaner strokes) it has more detail like most of  Renoir's work compared to Monet's.
In Renoir's version of Sunrise, he decided to include many illustrations of  his friend Claude Monet's famous works throughout the background as it captures significant moments during this period of their lives. (as seen above.)
Both Renoir and his friend Monet painted identical scenes on numerous occasions below is another examples of  this:
